recently showed you a group of pictures of this character with various expressions. However, after I looked at them, I mean really looked at it, the whole thing just looked a bit creepy.

That is why I chose to redo it. I had made quite a bit of progress, but in the end, I chose to scrap the entire thing after, i Looked at it and it just looked… bad.

This little detour has, however, cost me some time on the project, But I still hope to have it finished some time soon.

23I have to admit that I have fallen a little bit in love with this androgynous cyborg, if that is in fact what he/she/it is. So much so, that I made this 3D model of him/her/it.

Yeah, I am kind of making it up as I go along, which is new for me and it’s really unlike me, as I usually plan everything out weeks, sometimes months in advance.

This time though, I am pretty much leaving it all up to my own creative whims, which is actually a really fun way of working. Over-thinking is a thing of the past… well, at least, for this project.

This does not mean that Gwendolyn (that is his/her/it’s name for now) will become the main character in the game, but he/she/it might get a bit more screen time than I had initially intended. At the very least, he/she/it is the focus of my pitch video.

Keel character development part 5

This was my first time ever working with 3D, which was a challenge in itself.

I chose to work in Blender, mostly because I have no money, which means that open source is the only way to go. That being said, I felt fortunate that I had no prior experience with 3D, so there was nothing to compare Blender to. Because I probably would have found the program wanting, if I had ever worked in any other program.

This wraps up the character development for the character I designed for the Keel game. We are still in development on the game, but I hope to show you the game soon.
