Samsung galaxy note 10.1

image

I just received my new tablet via mail, and so far, I am in love.

The tablet that I chose was the Samsung galaxy note 10.1, because of its drawing capabilities and I was not disappointed. Now, keep in mind that I have only owned this device for a couple of hours so my opinion might beat bit bias and I still learning the ins and outs ofthe product. All that said, I freaking love this thing.

The pressure sensitivity is great in the s-pen, which allows me to really express myself well using layer paint.

I will come out with a slightly more comprehensive review later, but for those of us who cannot afford a critique, I have to say that this tablet is a must have

I actually got a Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet too. I already have the Galaxy Note 2 phone but the extra screen estate is just so handy. It’s nice to not have to only do digital drawings via my laptop and tablet. I can literally draw anywhere now. You should definitely check out the pose tool on the android market because you can pose figures, change the lighting and even the figure’s body type. I think the tablet is under rated, particularly as an artist’s tool.

    • I really like the Tool, it is kind of like a mini cintique. I am not saying that it is anywhere near is good as a cintique, but I love the fact that I no longer have to log my laptop with me everywhere.
My favorite app so far is Layerpaint. The great thing about this app that it is so small that it takes almost nothing for the tablet to run it. Furthermore you can set the size of your canvas yourself, which gives you the opportunity to draw with the sizes that you use when you usually draw.
All in all, I think this might be the bes investment I have made in a while.

I’m personally in between Photoshop Touch and Layerpaint. With Layerpaint I like the fact with the brush specified for colouring there’s more options for that particular brush. However, I like the additional options in Photoshop Touch but I wish there were more brushes and not just the one. I have Sketchbook Mobile but I may buy the version on my tablet. That has a lot of different types of brushes you can use. What put me off Sketchbook Mobile was the fact there were no colour pickers so it was quite frustrating trying to get similar tones. I just had to be lucky. Either way, the S pen is a wonderful invention and I hope it’ll be implemented and improved in further products.

      • I actually chose to buy an samsung/android product because of the S pen.
I was debating for long time whether I should get an ipod and the jot touch, which is priced just about the same as the galaxy 10.1
Whet sold me, was the palm rejection. I can draw as I normally would, without having problems. that is some kind of awesome.
By the way, if your are looking for an entertaining game, I can recommend the game “superbrothers, song and sorcery”

I actually got the game on my phone during the sales. Funny enough I was contemplating playing it on my tablet instead. The graphics are beautifully done and the music suits the game. I love the fact it seems to be heavily influenced by Zelda.
